Deep links
This page is for my deep links that I promote for my Search Engine Optimization endeavors. In case you don't know the purpose for deep links, I will try to explain it the best that I can in laymans terms.
Search Engine Optimization, commonly referred to as SEO, is the quasi-science of making a webpage or website rank better in the major search engines. I refer to SEO as a quasi-science because the algorithyms used by the major search engines are a closely guarded secret. In fact, the major search engines are so secretive, only a handful of people in the corporation truely know every aspect of how they work. Needles to say, if SEO companiesand firms do not understand fully how each algorithim works, getting a page to rank high is not an exact science.
So, now that you know that SEO is not an exact science, you'll need to know some about what the engines look for. I won't go too deep into the coding aspects, but I will touch briefly on it. The following list are some of the know attributes of what asearch engine may use to rank your site:
- Popularity - It is widely speculated that key work popularity is the number one factor in the search engine algorithim determining your site rank. Basicly stated, if you site is clicked more often than another site under a keyword search, you should rank higher than the other sites. This is why people refer to Pay Per Click, aka PPC, advertising on a major search engine as "buying" a ranking. This is because a new site normally won't place high when searching a key word. But if tge same site pays the search engine ten cents per click for a little tiny ad spot on the side, the search engine counts that towards their popularity. So PPC advertising is often the quickest way to improve your organic listing ranking. Organic meaning how your site ranks naturally.
- Site Development and Production - I won't go too deep into this, just know that if your site title, meta tags, key words, and markup design hold a weighting in most algorithims.
- Site Factors - Age of the site, how pages are internally linked, Top Level Domain, HTML markup, and historical development of the site ( RSS feeds, blogs, regular content being added.
- Off Site Factors - THe type of text used for the inbound link such as bold, underlined, or italicized keywords pointing to your site. Page rank and site relevance is also important.
